Autumn hookie

I was supposed to work on my yard this weekend (the October 1 deadline is coming soon) but the weather did not cooperate. When the dirt started to turn to mud we decided to drive up Logan canyon to see the autumn colors.
We went up to Tony Grove. On the way we stopped to watch a couple of fly fishermen in the Logan River.

I know that the reason that trees turn in the autumn is because the tree cuts off the water to the leaves so the chlorophyll ceases to work. When chlorophyll does not have water it looses its color so the other chemicals in the leaves show through. But that does not diminish the beauty and the wonder of these quakies.
At Tony Grove we saw the moose that lives up there. I always thought that the moose at Tony Grove was a cow but notice the antlers. He looks like a juvenile so maybe he is the calf of the cow that was up there.Don't worry, Mom, we were at a safe distance. I used a 270 mm (long) lens that is why the photo is not as sharp as the others.

Double D

Here is my nephew Double D (Danger Dallin). At a pre-wedding party in Livermore Double D learned to "dive" from the diving board.
"Hey Dad! I'm gonna jump!"

"I'm flying!"
That looks like it is going to hurt.
Hey! is he okay?
Dallin went on to do several more of those. Either the life jacket protected him or he feels no pain.

During our recent trip to the Bay Area for Holly and Frank's wedding Katie, Maddie, Bevan and I sneaked out to do some sight-seeing. Here are some of the photos we took.

As you can see, Maddie and Bevan did not think that the Oakland temple was that exciting.

It was foggy at the Golden Gate Bridge again.
